Some of our projects at Aeolab involve quick prototyping with electronics kits and off-the-shelf components, hacking
apart consumer products or toys to make a functional demo. This set of three low level prototypes resulted in playful devices
intended for a one-off Kickstarter video shoot.
Prototype 1. A Magic 8-ball toy that dispenses Yes / No / Maybe advice couched in personalized statistics lingo,
via embedded OLED screen and IMU sensing.
Prototype 2. Keychain TV playing an animated loop of a retro gaming style underwater scene, housed in a waterproof
fish tackle box and meant to be placed at the bottom of an aquarium.
Prototype 3. Analog clock face mechanism modified with stepper motor control of minute and hour hands, to make a
remotely programmable timer.
